Currently, the block regen feature is limited to a certain space and quite buggy (from what I've seen).
For small servers with friends, it's annoying to have a lot of destruction around the map.
If the mod is going to keep its level of absurd destructive abilities it would be nice to have a worldwide regen option.
there could also be an option to regen other mine mine no mi mob destruction as well, and an option to disable abilities that use the explosion effect in mc (like TNT) and only allow abilities that need destruction to be used (usually abilities that replace blocks around them). This would be useful as you could have only abilities that replace blocks work and then regenerate those destroyed blocks while having TNT abilities that don't need to be destructive not have any destruction at all.
issues with the current regen option I've had:
- regeneration takes longer than the regen time value (even with regen near players option)
- regen breaks when there are too many blocks destroyed at once
- regen breaks if the server closes during the pre-regeneration period or during
This is probably not high on the to-do list - if at all - but would improve the SMP experience of the mod and has been my only issue with the mod for the few years I've played it. Thanks for hearing me out 😃
edit: someone told me that harvesting is also disabled with block restoration to prevent duping. Using my idea of TNT abilities being disabled completely and having abilities that replace blocks restore them after a certain amount of time would also solve this issue as blocks replaced don't drop (of course only as a config option that is defaulted off).
