[I HAVE BAD ENGLISH]
In this suggestion, I will talk about damage scaling, durability, grades, and new configurations for swords.
The objective here is to make swords more accurate to the One Piece universe and also implement new features to create custom swords or modify existing ones.
GRADES
Meitos are referred to in One Piece as graded swords, which are swords of higher quality compared to normal swords better the grade -> better the slash, durability, and handling]. Meitos are rarely found in the world, and they have four classes: Grade, Skillful, Great, and Supreme.
DURABILITY
As shown in the anime/manga, the better the grade of a Meito, the better the durability and resistance the sword can endure. Wado Ichimonji is a great example; Zoro has been using this sword since he was a kid, and it still shows no signs of damage or reduced sharpness. The sword has retained its quality for years. Murakumogiri, used by Whitebeard, stopped a lava meteor from Akainu, and the blade didn’t dissolve or break. It also tanked a giant sword from a vice admiral, among other feats.
So, what do I mean by that? Make Meitos incredibly durable or make them lose no durability at all and give them special resistances:
Fire resistance: Will not burn in lava or fire.
Cactus resistance: Resists the incredibly strong cactus void.
Abilities/Explosion resistance: Make the blade resistant to abilities and explosions (e.g., if a Raigo is dropped on Yoru, Yoru will not disappear).
Void resistance: If dropped into the void, the blade will return to the land above.
And that’s all for durability.
DAMAGE SCALING
Why do this? Because with other configurations like 100k doriki and 300 haki exp, swordsmen cannot fight equally against brawlers or Black Leg users. The sword's max damage (with no other mods) will be around 15-20 damage, while brawlers and Black Leg users can do 52 damage in a hit (with high attack speed).
So, to balance things (another problem is avoiding someone with a high-grade sword in the early game from destroying everything in their path due to high base damage), don't increase the base damage based on grades. Instead, make the user reach the blade's potential through HAKI. This will prevent a player from becoming too strong too early and ensure they become powerful enough when they have a significant amount of haki to combat other punch-style users equally.
Here’s how it will work: All swords will now have a damage multiplier based on the user's armament haki experience. The damage scaling will be as follows if the user has max haki:
Grade: 20 damage
Skillful: 30 damage
Great: 52 damage (equal to brawlers' and Black Leg users' max punch damage)
Supreme: 63 damage
Now, how can servers with a small doriki amount, like 10k, survive this insane damage? Implement a config to adjust the scale. Create a general haki blade scale config, which might look something like this: [ALL THIS IS BASED ON ARMAMENT HAKI EXP]
1.0x damage
1.1x damage
1.2x damage
1.3x damage ... This is all for damage scaling and how to apply it.
BLACK BLADES
Make black blades REAL. Mihawk said that he turned Yoru into a black blade, and Ryuma turned his Shusui into a black blade. When a sword becomes a black blade, it levels up to a higher grade. For example, if Wado Ichimonji becomes a black blade, it will become a supreme blade and do more damage. I suggest the transformation to a black blade be achieved through continuous use of haki, defeating NPCs, and time spent using the sword.
CUSTOM CONFIG
I would like this because I want to create custom weapons, and having some configurations to do this is very helpful.
Config to apply Meito resistance to items I'm holding in my hand:
If I'm holding an iron sword and use something like /meito resistance, the item will gain Meito resistance properties.
Config to apply damage scaling and adjust it to an item I'm holding in my hand:
If I'm holding an iron sword and use something like /meito damage_scale 1.1/1.2/1.3, the damage scaling based on haki exp will be applied to this item.
That’s all, nice work, I love you guys.
